It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Husband, Father and Grandfather, Thomas R. Winterhalter on July 8, 2026. However, we are rejoicing in knowing that he is healed in Heaven. The pain and suffering he endured the last seven and a half weeks is over and now he has a new painful free body, Praise God.

Tom was born on October 25, 1942 to Frank E. Winterhalter and Vivian I. (Wolfe) Winterhalter.

Tom served on the Toledo Police Department for almost 30 years, retiring in 1996. After his retirement he worked for Owens Illinois and security for Whitmer High School.  Tom served in the United States Army.

He was an usher at Mainstreet Church until his health started failing. He was an avid Cleveland Guardians Baseball Fan. Tom was an avid bowler and golfer. He was fortunate to achieve scoring two holes in one on the golf course in his lifetime.

Tom is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 57 years, Sue (Rosebrock). Also surviving are his children son Scott, son, Shane (Kate), of Kennesaw, Georgia, and daughter Stacy (Mike) Burford; grandson August, of Kennesaw, Georgia, who was the apple of his eye. Then there is his  faithfull companion, Champ the Wonder Dog.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Rev. Frank D. Winterhalter, and sister-in-law Ruth Winterhalter.

A memorial service will be held at his church on July 24, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Mainstreet United Brethern Church, 5465 Moline-Martin Road, Walbridge, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. Private burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
