It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Jean Harris, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, on January 3, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on March 17, 1954, Sharon was the youngest of three children to George and Francis Laidig. She grew up with her sister Connie (Dave) Sancraint and brother David (Vanessa) Laidig.

Sharon married the love of her life, Bob Harris, and together they embraced adventure, frequently moving across the country and enjoying new beginnings. Sharon took immense pride in being a devoted homemaker to her five children: Robert (Christy) Harris, Samantha Harris, Jacob (Danielle) Harris, Lance (Susan) Harris, and Jeffrey (Lauren) Harris. Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished her role as matriarch to her 17 grandchildren: Kennedy, Robert III, Bailey, Rylon, Lylah, Jacob II, Rhiannon, Cameron, Lance Jr., Riley, Jackson, George, Madison, Carson, Jeffrey Jr., Charleigh, and Paxton—each of whom she loved fiercely and proudly.

While her heart was always at home, Sharon enjoyed working outside the house from time to time. She found fulfillment in cleaning homes and wrapping seasonal gifts at the Lions Store. Known for her green thumb, Sharon filled her homes with vibrant plants and often nursed sick ones back to life for her family and friends.

Sharon wore her heart on her sleeve and lived with a deep-rooted faith. She shared the gospel with loved ones at just the right moments, offering comfort and inspiration. Her church family at Toledo Apostolic Christian Church held a special place in her heart, second only to her Lord and her family. Sharon delighted in holding her babies and grandbabies and treasured the blessing of babysitting each of her grandchildren over the years. Her love and guidance will forever be remembered.

She was the heart of her family—a true matriarch whose presence will be deeply missed, yet whose love and faith will continue to guide those she leaves behind. Sharon, we’ll “Chitty Chatty” with ya later.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, George and Francis Laidig, her husband, Bob Harris, and her daughter, Samantha Harris.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service and luncheon at 12:00 p.m. at Toledo Apostolic Christian Church, 3730 Herr Rd, Sylvania, OH 43560.
