Obituary for Wilma Christine Dixon

Wilma “Mimi” Christine Dixon (Martin) born February 29,1936 to Veester and Christopher Martin. Recently passed May 13, 2016. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Ray Hayes (1956-1980). She is survived by her daughter Debra Lynn Hawk (Ronald), siblings,
Betty Faye Martin and Bobby Ray Martin (Sherry) and Rev. Ralph Adams; grandchildren Deana Lynn Prunty (Rodger), Ronald Dean Hawk, Dane Martin Hawk (Megan), Danelle June Lloyd (Drew), Christopher Richard Hayes. Great Grandchildren; Dean, Trey, Seth, Devon, Melanie, Sarah, Hawk, Phoenix and several nieces and nephews.

Wilma was a beautiful and vibrant woman. Over the years making lasting friendships at all of her many occupations. The most recent being at the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
During her teen years she was a member of her high school marching band and a majorette, actively co-organizing the Marilynnettes Baton and Marching Drill Team. Wilma personally won several baton competitions. She graduated from Scott High School with excellent marks.
She enjoyed modeling for LaSalles/Macys for charitable events, including The Sapphire Ball.
She loved a great social scene, whether it be dancing, parties, cook-outs, or just lunch with family and friends.

Christmas being her favorite holiday, she always held Christmas Eve festivities with good food, good cheer and presents for family and friends in her beautifully decorated home. Birthdays were a special time for Mimi to let the kids know she was thinking about them. She never forgot.

The most important thing in Wilma’s life was her family. More then anything, she wanted to see them happy. She loved her daughter, sister, brothers and grandchildren dearly, with all of her being, with all of her heart. Farewell to our beloved Matriarch. We love you and miss you already. You will forever be in our hearts.

Family and friends will be received at The Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue on Friday, May 20th from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
