On the morning of June 25, 2025, Nancy Ann (Hadley) Rasmusson , passed peacefully from this world at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She is now reunited with her husband of 56 years, Norman, who preceded her 7 years prior.

Nancy was born November 18, 1931, the only child of Paul and Lois (Cripe) Hadley of Toledo, OH. Nancy’s love for reading, learning and travel began as a child and continued throughout her life. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1953 with a BS in Education and a BA in Spanish and English. She joined the Alpha Phi sorority while attending BGSU and made life-long friends. The week after graduating, Nancy traveled by bus to Mexico City to take classes at Mexico City College that summer. Upon her return to Ohio she moved to Cleveland and worked as a secretary for Pan American World Air which led to work with the US Air Force Civil Service for a year in Madrid, Spain and then a year in Wiesbaden, Germany. She traveled extensively throughout Europe while living and working in Spain and Germany even taking a class at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. Nancy earned a Master of Arts Degree in Literature, Science and Art in Romance Language and Spanish Literature from The University of Michigan in 1962.

Nancy taught Spanish and English in Toledo and Ottawa Hills, was a substitute teacher in Perrysburg schools, a loving parental caregiver for many years and ended her working years with Hayes Travel Agency in Perrysburg. For more than 64 years, as a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Maumee, Nancy was a long-time member of the choir, very involved on many committees and devoted countless hours to the library and history projects of the church. Near and dear to her heart, she was a 30-year member of P.E.O., a philanthropic education organization that provides scholarships to women in need. Nancy also enjoyed attending monthly Toledo Art Museum gallery tours, playing bridge, reading and discussing books with friends, attending theater productions, orchestra concerts, traveling with friends and family. Family and many, many friends were always near and very dear to her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Norman. She is survived by her children Donald (Janet) Rasmusson, Cynthia (David) Shiver, Paul Rasmusson, and Gail (William) Fader; grandchildren Dr. Erin Rasmusson (Brent Ryman), Kurt (Kelly) Rasmusson, Troy Logan, Dana (Chad) Jacobs, Eric, Jay, and Anna Rasmusson, William (Kelly) Fader, Trisha (Mark) Malloy, Adam (Sydney) Fader; and 10 great grandchildren. She dearly loved each of them.

Services will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church of Maumee, 200 East Broadway St., Maumee, OH 43537. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 and a memorial service will take place in the main sanctuary at 11:30. Acknowledgements of sympathy may be directed to the church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or P.E.O. The family wishes to express gratitude for the excellent care and compassionate attention given to their loved one during her stay with Hospice, and to the many friends and family who visited her to show their love.
