Mary Ann Goetting

Mary Ann Goetting of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on December 25, 2025 at UTMC, at the age of 83.

Mary Ann was a dedicated telephone communication specialist who served her community through her work at Ohio Bell, Toledo Mental Health Center, the Toledo Zoo, and Buckeye Cable. Her career was marked by a commitment to clarity, compassion, and connection.

She was a proud 1960 graduate of Libbey High School in Toledo, Ohio.

Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents, Larry and Frances (Hundsrucker) Spangler, her former husbands Dennis Chaney and Walter "Stretch" Goetting, and her daughter-in-law Lisa Saul-Goetting.

She is survived by her loving husband James Reitz, her children Michael (Christine) Goetting and Melissa Goetting-Saul, her granddaughter Andrea (Brandi) Goetting, her stepchildren Marvin (Renee) Goetting, Marsha Shuba, Melvin (Bev) Goetting, and Mark (Pam) Goetting, and cousin Karen (Arny) Bereson.

Visitation will be held at Walter Funeral Home, located at 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 2- 8 PM with Funeral services being held on Monday December 29, 2025 at 11 AM. A private interment will be held at the Hoy Cemetery in Napoleon, Ohio.

Mary Ann will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, and her unwavering devotion to family and friends.
