In Loving Memory of

Linda (May, Hall) Swartz

March 12, 1944 – November 7, 2026

Linda (May, Hall) Swartz, born March 12, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away on November 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Linda shared the last ten years of her life with her husband, Jack Swartz. Their years together were an important part of her life, and he was by her side through the joys and challenges they shared.

Born to Jack and Lillian May, Linda grew up in Toledo, where she attended and graduated from Waite High School. During her high school years, she was musically gifted, playing both the saxophone and accordion. She proudly earned first chair in saxophone, a reflection of her love of music and her natural talent.

Linda also dedicated 35 years of her life to working at the BP Refinery. When she retired in 2011, she was recognized as one of only two women who helped pave the way for women working at the refinery. She made many lasting friendships throughout her career, and retirement never meant saying goodbye to those friendships. She continued to stay in touch and maintain relationships with many of her former coworkers over the years. Her career was not only a source of pride but also a reflection of her determination, hard work, and the meaningful connections she made along the way.

Linda was truly one of a kind. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was always the light of the room, with a kind heart, a beautiful spirit, and a willingness to do anything for anyone. Her laughter, warmth, and generosity touched the lives of so many. She had a way of making people feel welcome and loved, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

An avid NASCAR fan, Linda especially loved Rusty Wallace. Her passion for racing took her on many cruises and trips to see him. She also had an incredible love for animals and treasured her pets dearly. In fact, those who knew her often joked that they would love to come back as one of Linda’s dogs, knowing just how spoiled and loved they would be. Her beloved fur baby, Miracle, held a very special place in her heart.

Above all else, Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was affectionately known as G.G., a title she wore with so much love and pride. Her family was her world, and the memories, laughter, and unconditional love she shared with them will live on forever.

For the past ten years, Linda courageously battled pulmonary hypertension and scleroderma. She fought hard and endured so much throughout her journey, showing strength and determination along the way.

Linda leaves behind her loving brother, Ronald (Mary) May; her daughters, Kelly (Jazz) Chio and Tracey (Dave) Danielski; her stepchildren, Rob (Judy) Swartz, Jack (Dana) Swartz, Dave (Mike) Swartz, Tamara (Brian) Geer, and Grace (Todd) Stammen; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her beloved fur baby, Miracle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lillian May; her brother, Mike May; her late husband, George Hall; her daughter, Jacqueline Chio; her son-in-law, Mark Danielski; her grandson, Jeromy Danielski; her great-grandson, Thomas Davies and her granddaughter Emily Kahl

Linda leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her kindness, her laughter, her generosity, and the countless memories they shared. Though her family must now learn to live without her, the light she brought into every room will never truly go out.

She will forever be loved, forever missed, and always remembered as the one and only G.G.
