Linda Lee Owens

Linda (Chesher) Owens was welcomed into Heaven early in the morning on August 6, 2021. There she joined a welcome celebration attended by her parents, brothers, sisters & of course, a few dozen pets. Most importantly, she finally met Jesus face-to-face. A talented pianist & alto, Linda ministered music in her churches (Calvary Bible Chapel & The Worship Barn) for over 50 years. She was a Bible teacher & lay counselor. Her intercessory prayer resulted in many encouraging messages. Jesus was always & is forever her first love. She overcame many obstacles in life through staying close to Jesus & giving her burdens over to him in prayer. She expressed the importance of forgiving others & God’s mercy at forgiving us. She was very funny, especially when she didn’t mean to be. She was particularly sassy & had a keen sense of justice. She was passionate about animals & nurtured many cats & a few dogs that snuck in there. Some of her last words were: “Remember, I just got up & walked into another room.” She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard; her son Richard (Sara), daughter Sherry, step-daughters Tina Price (Buddy) & Laurie Allen; her beloved grandchildren, Sam & Tucker & five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Dan Chesher & his wife June (a close companion); brother-in-law Art Sarnowski & brother Sam (Ruth) Chesher; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins; lifelong friends Linda & Bill Meyer & her beloved cats Sassy & Sophie. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, August 14 at Calvary Bible Chapel, 3740 West Alexis Rd., Toledo, Ohio with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to noon. In lieu of flowers, Linda requested donations be sent to Bibles for the World.
