Kye Soon (Chung) Kazimir

September 18, 1953 — August 18, 2025

Kye Soon (Chung) Kazimir, 71 years old, of Toledo, Ohio and Gurye-Gun, Jeollanam-Do Province, South Korea, passed away at home on August 18, 2025.

She was born on September 18, 1953, on her family's property in Gurye-Gun, Jeollanam-Do Province, South Korea. However, typical of Korean culture, her family celebrated her birthday according to the lunar calendar, on October 21st.

The youngest of ten children, she was preceded in death by her mother Il Rae Bae and father Bong Gi Chung; also preceded in death by her mother-in-law Anna J. Koczian-Kazimir-Feher and father-in-law Laszlo J. Feher, who held an extra special place in her heart as not only in-laws, but as second parents.

She attended a local university in her hometown to study education and became a kindergarten teacher alongside her best friend Kum Ja Ok. They had many great childhood and adult adventures together and were embedded in each other's families throughout their entire lifetime.

She then traveled to the States to visit her many brothers and sisters that had already immigrated to America. During this time, she had met her husband, Béla Paul Kazimir, at an English language school on the Eastside of Toledo, Ohio. She then decided that she couldn't return to her home country because she had to be with the man she fell in love with. They married on November 12, 1977. She and her husband were blessed to live the American dream that all immigrants desire. She lived her life with faith, hope, and love; giving and sharing that with anybody that crossed her path throughout her life.

She was a highly skilled seamstress/tailor, working for a company in the South End of Toledo, then went into business on her own. She spent her life taking care of her immediate and extended family and never retired from that.

Kye is survived by her loving and faithful husband Béla Paul Kazimir; daughter Andréa Clarissa (Keith Edward) Brandt; son Béla Paul “BJ” (Chrissy Schultz) Kazimir III; niece Heekyung Jenny Kim (Yuran Chen); great-niece Gracey Yurina Chung; niece Hope Somang Min (Hoon Ju); and great grand-nephew Yohan Ju.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 2PM until 8PM at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave, Toledo, OH 43614.

The funeral will be held at St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614, on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11AM.
