Kenneth W. McKenzie passed away in Toledo, OH on April 1st at the age of 72. He was born on July 4, 1953 to Ruby (Peal) and Edward McKenzie in Alton, IL. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ruth (Miller). Ken will be missed by his sons Jon (Nicole) and Chris (Nicole), and grandchildren Annabelle, Oliver, and Theodore.

For many years Ken owned and operated a HWI hardware store in South Toledo. After selling the business, he joined the staff at The University of Toledo, working in the bookstore then the financial aid office until his retirement. Ken enjoyed traveling and achieved his goal of visiting all 50 states and several countries with Scotland and Italy being his favorites. Whether he was woodworking, sailing, fishing, or baking, he found the most joy when sharing these moments with his family. He especially cherished his time spent as Santa, belonging to several Santa associations and bringing the holiday spirit to life for many. He was a Freemason of Barton Smith Lodge 613, a proud member of the PFA, Shriners, and Grace Lutheran Church.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Cleveland Clinic and the anonymous donor of life.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran, 4441 Monroe St, Toledo, OH on April 17th at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Shriners Children's Hospital.
