Joyce A. Guhl, 78, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on August 11th.
Joyce was born on October 4th, 1947 to Mary (Malewski) & Joseph Dominiak. She was a beloved Sister, Mother, Aunt, and Grandmother and will be remembered for her kindness, humor, and positive spirit that was uniquely her own.
September 21st, 1968 she married David Guhl, the love of her life. The couple had a passion for bowling and dancing along with many other activities. The greatest passion they had was for their family and especially their sons: Donny, David, and Chris. Joyce was a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into her family and home. She had a special gift for making a house feel like home, filling it with love, laughter, delicious meals, and countless memories that her family will cherish forever. Joyce made everyone feel loved and provided a constant source of warmth, comfort, and stability.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons: David and Chris. Also surviving is her sister, Diane Shaughnessy, grandchildren: Spencer (Brittany), Donald (Kellie), Haley (Donny), Sierra, Natalia, Nathaniel, Nyxie, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Guhl, and beloved son, Donny Guhl. After nearly a decade apart, may we all find peace in the fact that they are reunited in heaven.
Those who knew Joyce will remember her for her passion of living a happy and meaningful life full of joy. She constantly reminded the family to live positively and be happy even in hard times. To many, she was the embodiment of grace, optimism, and the simple belief that life was meant to be lived and enjoyed.
The family will receive friends at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43614 on Tuesday August 18th, 2026 from 2-8pm. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Wednesday August 19th, 2026 at the funeral home.
