Joanne Carol Tarr

Joanne Carol Tarr (Muetzel), age 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Ayden Healthcare of Oregon. She was born July 25, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, to Harold and Hazel Muetzel (Case). Joanne graduated from Woodward High School in 1960 and married Larry Thomas Tarr on August 20, 1966.

Joanne was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family. A devout Christian, she enjoyed spending time with loved ones, participating in craft shows selling goose and American Girl doll clothes, and finding treasures at garage sales. She dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Zepf Center, where she worked as a billing and benefits specialist, helping many clients obtain the benefits they needed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Larry Tarr; her parents; brothers-in-law Charles (Robert), James, Donald, William, and Raymond Tarr; and sisters-in-law Florence Schmidt, Betty Kurth, Lois Rawlings, Shirley Kurth, and Marlene Hodak.

Joanne is survived by her children, Mark Tarr (Chris Bohland) and Lisa Shultz; grandchildren, Tracy McLain, Thomas McLain, Tyler Shultz, and Carter Tarr; great-grandchildren, Trenton and Zalyna; sisters, Connie (Emil) Henneman, Karen Enis, and Marilyn (Edward) Head; brother, Harold (Janelle) Muetzel; sister-in-law, Mary Tarr; and many nieces and nephews.

Joanne will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio, with services to follow at 1:00 p.m. The family thanks the staff of Ayden Healthcare of Oregon for their years of compassionate care.
