Joanne M Mercer

Joanne Mercer, age 75 years of Toledo, Ohio passed away suddenly at the University of Toledo Medical Center Hospital on January 12, 2026. Joanne was born May 25, 1950 to Fred and Mary Klien. She graduated from Libbey High School in 1968. She was married to the love of her life, Ronald R. Mercer, Sr. for over 57 years. Joanne’s first job was a Candy Striper at Maumee Valley Hospital. She retired in 2007, after 30 years of dedicated service to the Toledo Public Schools where she served as a food service supervisor.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marilyn Pacheco and Linda Hefner. Joanne is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Sr., her children Ron (Lisa) Mercer Jr., Dawn (David Black) Mercer and Allen (Crystal) Mercer, 9 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren who were the light of her life. In addition to her grandchildren, she filled her life with her numerous other passions. She was a brilliant seamstress, baker and avid crocheter, making her family and friends special treasures for every occasion. Joanne was an incredibly talented crafter throughout her life, leaving her family with years of precious memories.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo on January 27th, 2026 from 1-3 PM.
