Gary Wayne
Boerst
May 7, 1946 – April 10, 2026
A billiards player, a fisherman, a teacher, a traveler,
a chef, a storyteller, an enjoyer of life.
To us he is a loving husband and companion.
A gentle father and grandfather.
An uncle and a brother.
A friend.
Gary is many things, but to those of us that know him, words are inadequate to describe what he means to us. Instead of sadness, we wish to celebrate the time with which we were blessed with his presence. He will be lovingly remembered. He will be profoundly missed.
There will always be an empty seat at the table, an open barstool for the Big Game, and a pool cue awaiting a skillful hand. We are comforted in knowing that someday we will see him again, feel his warm embrace, and hear the echo of his laughter. He will be ready to share with us irreverent wisdom and his sense of humor.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Rowena Jane Boerst. He is survived by his wife Julie, sons Brian (Jill) and Patrick (Julie), daughter Jane (John) Mueller, and grandchildren Jacob, Ethan, Julia, and Kiha.
To celebrate Gary, and in lieu of flowers and fancy productions, kick back, throw on some Jimmy Buffett and enjoy a cocktail.
