Francis R. Myers Francis R. Myers (Frank), age 91 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The son of Louis and Elnora Myers. He was a graduate of Macomber High School and achieved a bachelor’s degree at University of Toledo. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II as a soldier of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troop, known as the Ghost Army. He worked for Owens Illinois for 33 years and retired as Manager of Financial Analysis. He was the softball fast-pitch pitcher for the Owens Illinois team. He loved baseball, pitching horseshoes, and beating the pants off of everyone in pool, ping-pong and cards. Frank enjoyed traveling the world and living the beach life at Bonita Beach Club in Bonita Springs, Florida, with his wife and family. His family was his world and his happiness. He had an infectious sense of humor and loved to laugh. A very kind, gentle and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise, his children, David Myers and his wife, Kim, Denise Holler and her lifelong friend John Rueda, and Diane Weik and her husband Bernie; and three grandchildren: Nathan Myers and wife Amanda, Nick Myers and wife Jessica, and Bernie Weik, III; and seven great grandchildren: Jacob, Zachary, Abigail, Lucas, Annabelle, Benjamin, and Jude Myers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Richard and James Myers, and sister, Marcella Shiple. Family and friends may visit on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43614.
