Donald P. Engelhardt, 84, of Toledo Ohio passed away December 7, 2017 at Rosary Care Center surrounded by family. Don was born in Toledo on February 7, 1933 to Ralph and Ruth (White) Engelhardt. He graduated from Macomber High School in 1952 and entered the United States Army in April 1953 and served during the Korean War. On July 3, 1954 he married Martha R. Floering. When he returned from the Army he opened Engelhardt’s Gulf station in South Toledo, worked at Unicast for a couple of years until finding his passion in woodworking and cabinet making at Crown Store Equipment until retiring. There was always a remodeling project going on at home. He enjoyed Nascar racing and golf. They also enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Barton Lake in Indiana with family and friends. Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha (Marty), children Rick (Jody) Engelhardt and Paul (Denise) Engelhardt, grandchildren Rick, Fallon, Alex, Kendall and Rylee, brother Terry (Carol) Engelhardt, sister-in-law June (Ralph) Engelhardt and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Ralph Engelhardt. Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13th at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio. The funeral will begin on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Don to the American Cancer Society.
