Bettie “June” Chamberlain, 92, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on August 3, 2026 of natural causes.

June was born on January 6th, 1934 to Willard and Thelma Dunaway in Mahan, West Virgina. After graduating from Kingston high school she moved to Toledo, Ohio where she met Donald Paul Chamberlain. They married on April, 11th, 1953. They were married for 49 years, and had 2 children, James R. and Ronald P. (deceased).

She worked at Lamson’s Department store in Maumee, Ohio and then drove a school bus for Maumee Valley Country Day School. She went to Clown School in Ft. Myers, Florida and was known as “June Bug”. She loved to entertain both children and adults.

June was predeceased by her parents, brothers Donald, Clifford, Gary, Mike and Marvin and sister Linda. She is survived by her youngest sister Sherry Buehler, and sister-in-law Phylis Spoerl and Jane Dunaway as well as her son James, grandson Chris and granddaughter Alicia. She has 3 great grandsons Parker, Chase and Mason and several nieces.

Visitation will be held at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio on Friday August 7th from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The service will be held on Saturday August 8th at the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, 1750 Eastgate Road, Toledo, Ohio at 11:00 am with a lunch to follow. She will be buried in Pemberville Cemetery located at 16800 Fish Road, Pemberville, Ohio, 43450 at 2:00 pm.
