Bernard F Thobe

THOBE Bernard F. Bernard was called home to be with Jesus on September 15, 2016 at the age of 87. He always said “call me Thobe”. Thobe was born on July 9, 1929 to Lillian and Fred Thobe. He spent his elementary school years at Good Shepherd School and then graduated from Libbey High School in 1947. He went right to work for Owens Illinois as a draftsman, where he stayed for 35 years retiring in 1982. He was drafted into the Army in 1951. He spent 1951 in Georgia, 1952 in Korea and was discharged in 1953. In 1951 he married Loa Mae Stone and they would have celebrated their 65th anniversary on November 3, 2016. They have one daughter, Gaylene (Mark) Austin and grandson Daniel. Missing the great love and big smiles are his wife, Loa, his daughter Gaylene (Mark) Austin and grandson Daniel Austin. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 3:30 PM at Providence Lutheran Church, 8131 Airport Hwy., Holland, OH. Online condolences may also be left at www.walterfunerlhome.com.
