Linda Jane Bailey, 67, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away suddenly on April 27, 2017. Linda was born on October 10,1949 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A very spiritual person, Linda spent her lifetime learning and teaching. The first of six children, Linda was the consummate older sister. She was caring, protective but not overly controlling, sympathetic and supportive. As a lifelong learner, she earned her B. A. Degree in Communication Arts and Education from Western Michigan University in 1971, and later a Master's Degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Southwestern College Santa Fe,NM as well as a Master's Degree in Early Child Education from Eastern Michigan University. She was also a published writer. As a teacher, Linda touched the lives of students In Michigan, Vermont, New Mexico, and Ohio. She was currently a teacher in the Toledo Public Schools Crossgate Pre School program. She particularly loved working with younger children where she could utilize her skills as an art therapist. She took delight in describing the antics and adventures of her students and was proud of their accomplishments. She considered her students to be her family and often provided to those that would otherwise do without. Linda cared about the students and staff that she worked with. The generosity of Linda's spirit touched others in many ways. She had the gift of being fully present, even with a stranger. She could draw people in with her great big blue eyes that had a world of wisdom behind them. She dressed with flair in silver and turquoise. She embodied the life of the artist. The world and people she met were part of her artistry. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Linda is survived by her mother, Elizabeth, brothers Mark, Robert, Craig (Tammy), Scott, sister Nancy, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Robert. Private interment will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery in Ann Arbor, Michigan
