Cynthia Lou Boomer, 65, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on July 6th. Loving Wife of 42 years to Don, Mother to Jordan (Rachael) and Justin, Stepmother to Jason (Dorothy), and Grandmother to Teagan, Liam and Noah. She was a 1976 graduate of McCauley High School. Cindy and Don met through a scuba certification class at the YMCA in the spring of 1979, they were later married on December 5th, 1980. Cindy was a parishioner at Gesu church.
Cindy was incredibly involved with raising her sons, starting the St. Charles Borromeo Cross Country program as coach, and a proud supporter of Gesu and St. Francis Football and St. Francis Cross Country. She helped her two sons to achieve Eagle Scout by age 14, something she was very proud of. She enjoyed making stained glass art and working in her gardens. Cindy worked at Fine Designs studios, Buckeye Cable, and as a school photographer.
Cindy enjoyed hosting family and friends, especially for the holidays. She was very proud of her Christmas decorations and 10 Christmas trees. The Boomer Holiday Party was a celebration that brought all friends and family together.
A devoted grandmother, Cindy would use any holiday to spoil the kids. Cindy and Don would often travel to Traverse City or Catawba to soak up the lake views and visit the local wineries, some of their favorite times together.
Cindy will be deeply missed by all her friends and family. The family would like to thank all those who cared for her in these last months.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue on Thursday, July 13th. Her Funeral Mass will be held at Gesu Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
If desired, friends may make a memorial contribution to St. Francis de Sales High School in her name.
