Beverly Pelger, of Toledo, passed away on June 24, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice at Flower Hospital at the well-lived age of 90. She personified values of a time long past and was a role model of tenacity, grace, and service to her family and those that were fortunate to know her. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was deeply loved and will be forever remembered. She received her BS and Masters of Education at the University of Toledo. Beverly was an incredibly nurturing person and taught first grade at Marshall Elementary for 27 years. Her charitable spirit was evidenced in her volunteerism at Read for Literacy and church, and her involvement in the Wounded Warrior and Shriners Children’s Hospital. Beverly remained devoted to her husband of 58 years, Willard Pelger who passed in 2010. Together they led a rich life of adventure, full of travel and memories to fill a lifetime. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Doris Remusat; husband, Willard Pelger; brother, Ray Remusat; sisters, Onalee Maher, Marveline McGiffen, and Jean Gannon. She is survived by her son, Scott Pelger; granddaughters, Lindsey (Modassir) Choudhry, Heidi (Ryan) Thornton and Nick (Sydney) Mason; great-grandchildren, Aalia Choudhry, Hudson Thornton, Laith Choudhry, Hunter Thornton, James Thornton, Cyrus Choudhry and Kinsley Mason. Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, on Thursday, June 30th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
